Other Health Drinks "Not So Healthy"

This should have been sent to everyone in the group.

Exotic juices. Mangosteen, Noni, Goji, Xango, Thia-Go , G3
ALL are Acidic and Detrimental to Health. Because there is so much buzz out there about Goji Juice and other exotic drinks, we are forwarding you an excerpt from a recent e-mail from Dr. Young. It is a very good read and one which everyone who understands the importance of an alkaline approach to optimal heath should be familiar with so the information can be shared with those being misled about the health benefits of these drinks.

Stephanie McAnly

Mangosteen, Noni, Goji, Xango, Thai-Go, G3 and other fruit juices claim to provide nutritional health benefits, or do they? I have tested all of these so-called nutritional health drinks and they are all highly acidic at a pH ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 with an ORP (oxidative reduction potential for buffering acids and providing body energy) ranging from +250 mV to +450 mV. All of these so-called nutritional health beverages would have the same toxic acidic effects as drinking an acidic cola drink at a pH of 2.5 with an ORP at +250 mV. Great for cleaning the corrosion off the battery cables of your car, but destructive to the digestive system and especially the delicate intestinal villi of the small intestine where blood is made . All of these exotic, proton rich fruits and fruit drinks will pull energy from you r body robbing you of needed electrons to keep your body running healthy and strong. The reason that products such as Mangosteen, Xango, Goji and Noni seem more attractive is because the ingredients are "exotic" and most people just don't know much about the ingredients. The truth is that these exotic fruits and fruit juices are generally pasteurized, full of sugar, and will acidify the blood and tissues making you sick, tired and fat! Whatever little nutritional value they might claim to offer is lost in their saturation of hydrogen ions making these beverages void of any nutritional or energetic value!

Yes, there is some research on xanthones, a phytochemical found in Mangosteen, Xango, Goji, Noni, but the scientific interpretations are incorrect. The phytochemical xanthone is a potent anti-acid by itself. But, the value of the xanthones found in these exotic fruits are not sufficient enough to neutralize the high concentrations of acidic hydrogen ions, leaving these beverages highly acidic at 2.5 to 3.0 pH and deficient of any energy value at +250 mV and up.

I would suggest looking at the published research on bioflavonoids (lutein, zeaxanthin, lycopene, lutein, beta-carotene, and over 600 more of them), polyphenols (which include proanthocyandins, anthocyanidins, catechins, etc), indole-3-carbinol and sulfurophane (broccoli extract and cruciferous vegetables), iridoids (mainly found in olive fruit), not to mention all the vitamins, minerals, and anti oxidants naturally found in electron rich fruits and vegetables.

The list could go on and on and on. Nearly all of these compounds are found in the nutritional supplements that are in "The Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements" and in our book, the pH Miracle for Weight Loss. You could literally pull up hundreds of thousands of studies on all of these phytochemicals. Xanthones may have beneficial properties in the right concentrations but it is only one compound among thousands that have well-researched benefits.

If people think they are getting some miraculous compound, secret juice or magic formula, they are being misinformed. What they are getting is a highly acidic, enervating fruit juice that will increase the acidic state of the body and damage the delicate alkaline pH of the digestive and circulatory system. Add Mangosteen, Noni, Goji or Xango fruit or juice to your current vitamin/mineral regimen and expect short term benefits from the acidic laxative affect and long term damage to the small intestine and large intestine.

Eventually the acidic damage done to the small intestine will affect the quality of the blood that will in turn affect that quality and health of every cell in the human body. This can then lead to a serious health challenge. The nutritional health benefits of these exotic fruits are highly exaggerated and misleading.

Bottom line: stay away from all these exotic fruits and fruit drinks. They are all acidic and by drinking them you put your health and fitness at risk!

Ayurveda

Ayurveda is a medical system that considers the “whole” body and its function in total harmony with the universe. It is based on a variety of theories about health and illnesses and on ways to prevent, manage or treat various health challenges. This is not a quick miracle remedy; it must become a way of life. You must allow the body’s natural healing mechanisms time to progress at their own pace, momentum and duration. The practice of Ayurveda must be an active life long voyage into self-discovery and total renewal.

Ayurveda is a 6000year old science that originated in India. The word ayurveda is a derivative of two Sanskrit terms: “ayu” meaning life and “veda” meaning knowledge or science. The components and concepts of Ayurveda are found in the ancient book of knowledge called Vedas that dates back to somewhere around 3000BC. . Ayurveda is a very comprehensive program that unites diet, lifestyle changes, herbs, massage, aromas and various other therapies. We can literally interpret that ayurveda is the knowledge or science of life.

Ayurvedic medicine, also called Ayurveda, is a whole medical system that has evolved for over thousands of years. Ayurvedic medicines are based on the fact that the every person has a unique constitution. The therapies that are prescribed for one person may not work for another even if they have similar complaints. It is also based on sound ecological consciousness of animals, birds and plants in relation to human life. Maintaining clarity of senses is essential in allowing the mind and body to integrate their functions and help in maintaining us as healthy and happy individuals.

The mind and the body work in conjunction with each another to regulate our bodily processes. The basis of ayurveda is on the vision of wholeness, not of fragmentation. In order for the mind to properly assist the physical body, all of our senses must used as information gatherers.

Generally regarded as the oldest form of healthcare in the world, Ayurveda is an extremely complex medical system. In the United States and most western societies, Ayurveda is only considered to be a complementary and alternative medicine (CAM).
I hope that you will continue to discover Ayurvedic and choose it as an alternative improve your health, overall wellness and expand your insights into the miracle called life.

Moringa Oleifera: a powerful health-enhancing plant

By Michael Gale

Moringa has been used by various societies including Roman, Greek, Egyptian, and Indian, for thousands of years with documentations dating as far back as 150 AD. Moringa oleifera, commonly referred to simply as Moringa, is the most widely cultivated variety of the species of Moringa. Moringa is a fast growing, small tree well adapted to arid, sandy conditions. It is a sun and heat loving plant that naturally contains over 90 nutritional compounds. Moringa has enormous potential for benefiting all of humanity.

Moringa contains 18 of the 20 amino acids required by the human body including all eight of the essential amino acids. It is one of only a few plants that contain all eight essential amino acids contained in meat products. Moringa is an important food source in many countries, and possesses amazing healing properties. It is one of the most powerful health-enhancing plants and is reported to contain properties which help rheumatism, arthritis and other joint afflictions as well as being a cardiac and circulatory stimulant.

The leaves are highly nutritious, being a significant source of beta-carotene, Vitamin C, protein, iron and potassium. In addition to being used fresh as a substitute for spinach, its leaves are commonly dried and crushed into a powder, and used in soups and sauces. The bark, sap, roots, leaves, seeds, oil and flowers are used in traditional medicine in several countries.

Moringa seeds contain large amounts of iron, vitamin B1 (thiamin), amino acids, and fats including the essential omega-3 oils. Moringa seed oil contains antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, which help heal minor skin complaints such as cuts, bruises, burns, insect bites, rashes and scrapes quickly.

When Moringa seeds are crushed and added to dirty, bacteria laden water, the impurities adhere to the seeds and can be easily extracted. A group of researchers believing that Moringa seeds would work better than the most commonly used water purifier that used aluminum sulfate, (which can be toxic), have successfully replaced some of the expensive imported systems with a simpler full scale system using Moringa seeds.

Interest is slowly growing in the use of Moringa in the diet and as a beneficial plant. It is an important food source in many countries and has amazing healing properties. It is both nutritional and medicinal with useful minerals, vitamins, and amino acids. It considered one of the world’s most useful trees, as almost every part of the Moringa tree can be used for food, or has some other beneficial property. Moringa can be grown so cheaply and easily, several governments in Africa are promoting Moringa oleifera as a locally produced food. Continued use of Moringa for dietary and medicinal purposes by cultures in separate and distant parts of the world attest to its beneficial effects. Moringa is a recent “discovery” of modern science that is beginning to find its way to center stage in today’s society.
In Conclusion, Moringa may be the new kid on the block, where modern science is concerned, however with all its healthy properties Moringa will continue to help people who live a world away and will slowly be integrated into many industries of the western world including food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics.

Postscript: On July 3rd I reported that my blood pressure was a bit high at 135/80. After another month of taking my PogaMoonga™ regularly as indicated on the bottle I went to the doctor on something unrelated and my BP had dropped to 120/71. That was on the 10th of August. I would put a big smiley face on this page if I only knew how! I had a recheck today and it's still holding good at 126/68. I'M SO HAPPY!

OH! The Wonder of Aloe Vera

After stumbling onto the wonderful health beverage called PogaMoonga™ I began a comprehensive personal research project on all of its' powerful ingredients. The second ingredient, but just as important as the Pomegranate is the magical Aloe Vera Plant.

Aloe Vera: Natures Wonder Plant

The full power of aloe Vera and the health benefits of aloe Vera have yet to be tapped. Aloe Vera Juice has many benefits to the internal and external workings of the human body. Aloe Vera has been recognized for centuries for its remarkable health-enhancing properties. Although the benefits of the Aloe Vera plant are known mostly for its topical applications treating skin disorders, the juice is also used in cases of people suffering from heartburn, ulcers and other digestive disorders. Aloe Vera has natural healing and detoxifying powers and works gently within the intestinal tract to help break down impacted food residues and thoroughly cleanse the bowel. People suffering from indigestion or the irritable bowel syndrome have claimed that the juice of Aloe Vera in itself does provide a great deal of comfort.

Aloe Vera is also known to be a stimulant to the immune system, a powerful anti-inflammatory, an analgesic and is able to speed up cell growth. Aloe also contains large numbers of nutrients including vitamins E, C, B1, B2, B3, and B6 as well as iron, manganese, calcium and zinc. An analysis of the Aloe Vera plant shows it is made up from a large variety of amino acids, enzymes, vitamins and minerals and it comes closer than any other known plant to the duplication of life’s essential substances in the biochemistry of the human body. The extract of Aloe Vera is also known to even steady blood sugar levels after regular consumption.

In establishing a regime of regular daily intake of Aloe Vera Juice it was found that the effects are gradual, gentle and with no irritant or harmful side effects. Blood condition will also be improved due to Aloe Vera’s detoxifying ability. Of course, each individual must have a due regard for their own diet. If a diet can be normalized, the regular consumption of Aloe Vera Juice can often improve and maintain the feeling of well-being and add to the quality of their life.
In any event, an important fact must be remembered: Aloe Vera has no known adverse side effects.

One of the three key ingreients of PogaMoonga is the wonderful and powerful Aloe Vera.

Heart Healthy Pomegranate, Natures Antioxidant

After stumbling onto the wonderful health beverage called PogaMoonga™ I began a comprehensive personal research project on all of its' powerful ingredients. First and foremost is the heart healthy Pomegranate, Natures Antioxidant.

Pomegranates have been consumed by man since before recorded history. Pomegranate has historically been used for its natural restorative powers, and can be consumed both as a fruit, and as juice.
While it seems ancient cultures have known about the benefits of this amazing food, it is only recently that medical research has proven the wide range of health benefits of pomegranates and their juice. The pomegranate is a large, seedy red fruit, slightly larger than an orange. Each and every pomegranate is composed of exactly 840 seeds, each surrounded by a sac of sweet-tart juice contained by a thin skin. Pomegranate juice is made from the pomegranate fruit; which is an unusually seedy fruit that has a tart, yet sweet taste.

Pomegranate juice was touted, on a recent Oprah Show, as something people should add to their diets. Pomegranate juice sounds like an excellent choice and is receiving rave reviews from medical professionals Worldwide. Pomegranate juice is being hailed as the new cranberry thanks to its fantastic health benefits and delicious flavor. This juice is packed with many powerful health benefits.

Health benefits of Pomegranate juice have been long recognized, and have been extensively promoted as such. Recently more research has been completed that studied the benefits of Pomegranate juice for combating heart disease, high blood pressure, prostate cancer and many other health issues. The Pomegranate is a natural antioxidant, which helps in detoxification of the body, as well as limiting free radical damage to healthy cells.

Researchers have discovered that in patients drinking pomegranate juice, the oxygen deficiency to the heart during exercise was significantly reduced as compared to a placebo. This therefore suggests an increase in blood flow to the heart with the use of some form of pomegranate. In some clinical studies, pomegranate juice has been shown to be of significant benefit, especially in the prevention of heart disease. Ingesting healthy pomegranate juice also been known to alter anxiety, have a beneficial effect on insomnia and improve the circulation of the heart. Research shows the compounds found in pure pomegranate juice help fight cell damage in the body and thus help protect against heart disease, cancer and other diseases. In one study it was shown that blood flow to the heart improved by about 17 percent among those who drank 8 ounces of pomegranate juice a day and it worsened by 18 percent in the group given a placebo drink. Recent research has shown that pomegranate juice can even help to lower cholesterol. It decreases the plaque-forming "bad" LDL cholesterol level, increases the heart-protective "good" HDL cholesterol level, and increases blood flow and oxygen supply to the heart. Studies also suggest that heart patients who consume pomegranate juice may also experience a reduction in arterial plaque build-up and lower levels of LDL cholesterol (the bad kind of cholesterol).
Pomegranate juice also shows a greater ability to inhibit LDL oxidation than most other beverages.
